Exercise for children

We’ve pulled together a selection of online exercise platforms who either offer free access or offer extended trials during the coronavirus outbreak.

You should aim to move every day.  Recommendation is:

  • Under 5’s - Three hours each day
  • Children and young people - one hour each day
  • Adults - 2 ½ hours each week

Active mind

Being active can give a huge boost to our mental wellbeing – it may reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression too.

    Free online classes created by England Athletics to help 4-11-year-old children get moving with running, jumping and throwing activity.

    Lots of resources and activities to help keep children active and engaged during the coronavirus outbreak.

  • Ready Set Ride
    A series of fun videos and games to help support children to start cycling.
  • Move Crew
    Daily missions to encourage kids to complete their 60 minutes of recommended activity - developed by teachers, physical activity specialists, elite athletes, coaches and kids.

    Lots of fun ideas and activities to keep your kids moving – 10-minute shake up games, indoor activities and ways to adapt activities to make them more accessible.
